The entire story takes place in and around Gesya’s apartment.

The apartment is a small, grungy 1 bedroom studio apartment. Ideally, we could build out a working set to use and place the camera anywhere we want with total freedom.

There is no continuity in the design of the apartment though, from scene to scene it changes and shifts along with Gesya’s perception of reality. So I’d like to move the furniture around and have the room slightly shifting throughout the movie to be slightly off from scene to scene.

This is where Lawbrence starts to live out of inside of Gesya’s bathroom. Not only that, he eventually builds a nest inside of the bathtub and we have some practical effect shots in here.

The tension is played up as we shift from Lawbrence and Gesya’s perspectives, with her peeking inside to see what he is up to and Lawbrence stepping out to spy on Gesya back.

There are a few shots outside of Gesya’s apartment, but no full fledged scenes. It’s mostly establishing shots of characters arriving and leaving scenes.

The complex exterior is shown at both day and night.

Inside of Gesya’s apartment, we spend time in her bedroom as she not only tried to go to sleep with Lawbrence clanking on pipes in the bathroom, but the entire ending sequence takes place in the bedroom.

It’s a simple, neat bedroom with lots of pictures on the walls of Gesya’s family members.

She also has some of her dead husband, Adam’s, clothes laid out with all of his stuff completely untouched since he died.
